Ingredients

  • 600 g long grain rice (washed and drained)
  • 150 g Chinese sausage sliced diagonally to 1 cm thick pieces
  • 300 g waxed duck (cut in small pieces)
  • 1 chicken stock cube
  • Water to cook rice
  • 2 cm young root ginger (cut into julienne strips)
  • 1 clove garlic (crushed)
  • 6 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil

Garnish: Fried sliced shallots, Chinese celery, slices of red chili.

Method

Heat the sesame and cooking oil in frying pan and fry ginger and garlic till fragrant. Add the waxed duck pieces and the sausage and fry 5-7 minutes. And the rice,chicken stock cube,salt and pepper and stir well over low low heat. Transfer all to rice cooker, add water and cook till dry. Serve hot with garnish.
