Foods that contain a high percentage of water (such as spanish, tomatoes, celery) do not freeze successfully. Cakes pastries and bread freeze well. A tip for cake lovers: when cake is thawing, cut think slices of apple to cover the entire cake and place it in an airtight container; allow to stand in a cool place for two hours, then serve. The cakes will be as if freshly baked.

Raw meats and sea food can be frozen for long periods and of course, one of the major advantages of a freezer is that you prepare cooked food, freeze the dish and serve it when needed.
