Ingredients
250 g mutton or beef bones
1 cm piece fresh ginger crushed
2 cloves garlic  crushed
2 heaped tbsp lentils (dhal) soak

20 pieces black pepper corns – pound fine
OR 1/2 tsp black pepper powder

1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 sprig curry leaves  discard stem
4 small tomatoes cut off tops and use whole
8 metric cups water
Salt to taste
Method
Put all into a pot and boil until lentils are soft and tomatoes reduced to a pulp. Serve hot.
